Fishing at the Hatchery

In June we decided to go fishing with Mike's parents and his niece, Maren, up at the Fish Hatchery in Ogden. I wasn't sure how the boys would react to catching a fish... sometimes they are pretty scared of ANY animal, no matter the size. It was hilarious to watch them with their Grandpa Simpson. Raleigh would take off running whenever he caught a fish. Crew, on the other hand, would stand and hold his fish up with pride, and then jump and get nervous when the fish would move around on the hook. It was a really fun day, and although they didn't learn much about REAL fishing, we caught a whole bunch of fish and had a blast.

I wondered how my grandfather threaded the line thru the hook's eye when he had a crippled hand. Now I can't see close up and wonder even more how he did it. Perhaps that is why he took the time to teach us how to fish; then if he ever got to the point he couldn't prepare his tackle he could have us do it instead.
